Fruit Loop Hearts
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, a lot of us are trying to find some fun themed crafts for our toddlers to keep them busy do for fun. As simple as this craft/snack is, they will enjoy working on this for at least a whole 20 minutes, and who doesn't approve of something that helps Sally develop some fine motor skills?? Forget the fact that it's a cereal high in sugar, because I can guaran-dang-tee you that it's way less than those conversation hearts that they will undoubtedly get a hold of at some point, or cry for - this is a great time for bargaining (kidding).
I was actually inspired by a post that I had seen using something similar for a cake/cupcake topper; another adorable idea.
It's super simple. You will only need two things:
- Pipe Cleaners
- Fruit Loops
Just bend one tip of the pipe cleaner to keep loops from falling off the end, and allow your toddler to string cereal along the other. Once they have nearly filled the cleaner, twist both ends together and shape into a heart. Easy peasy!
I did this craft with my 2 1/2 year old niece, and 3 year old daughter who LOVED it. They were so excited to then eat these for their snack that day. Hope you enjoy it too! Happy Love Day!
