Jelly Bean Bracelets
What is colorful, sweet, fashion forward (for a toddler), easy to make, and perfect for Easter creativity? You got it - jelly bean bracelets. This was a fun Friday afternoon activity for my 3 1/2 year old and I to do together, and I'm sure you will find it fun, too.
These were just as much fun to eat as they were to make and wear. You'll only need a few things:
- Jelly Beans (I used Sweetarts, and Brach's speckled jelly bird eggs)
- Clear stretchy jewelry string
- Large Sewing Needle
- Thimble
- Scissors
Step One: Measure how much thread you will need by wrapping around the wrist and adding 2-2 1/2 inches to either side (or just make your life easier and add 5 inches to the length around your wrist).
Step Two: Thread your needle and double-knot your string.
Step Three: Using your thimble, push beans onto your needle until your needle it through, and your bean is on the string - repeat until enough of the string is filled with beans to wrap around the wrist; this is where my toddler excitedly picked out jelly beans and handed them to me.
Step Four: Double-knot and snip loose ends off. And you're done!!
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter!
He Lives!
